Falafel is yum. More than the food, I like their customer service and ambience of this place. One of the good restaurants around ISU!

If you have not tried this place and you are in downtown Normal, shame on you! Hands down, the best gyros and fries in town! Seasoned just right. Served fresh and hot. Anytime, I am in the area, I will be stopping in. I absolutely loved every bite! It has to be my favorite 😍

I’ve been craving the crisp from a gyro for a while and came back in since I was going to be in uptown anyway. Saw they had a garlic chicken ‘sandwich’ from the last time I had been here, with some French fries inside. Very nice people! If you’re like me and worried to give something new a try here’s what to expect. I would call pita a “tortilla like” texture but slightly thicker and substantial without being doughy, that easily holds in sauce without getting soggy or falling apart. The gyro meat is salty and crispy like it was cut off a spit into thick pieces. The sauce for the regular gyro is similar to sour cream and cucumber but really helps balance the salt of the meat. The tomato’s are fresh and placed with love. Normally comes with onions but I passed, it would help give it a nice crunch and acid that is a perfect blend. The garlic chicken is a very easy transition. It was tender and juicy, well seasoned with thick cut fries and all the usual sandwich topping but on a pita bread. The garlic sauce is very strong- how I like it. It’s a flavor bomb with a good texture and it’s filling.

We stopped here after a performance at ISU with my junior high kids. It's such a cool vibe, and everything we got tasted amazing!!! We even got hummus and dessert to go! The owners were serving and kind as can be! Absolutely a wonderful place to have a meal.

I love The Rock, good food at decent prices. I love their baba and hummus. It almost always is perfect! The Gyro special is good as well. Their fries are battered and fried, have have the best texture around! Overall a great pick for a lunch stop if you are around the campus or passing through! Occasionally you'll get the odd day when something just is off about the food, sometimes the baba is super bitter, other times the Gyro meat is just lacking some flavor. The tzatski usually helps round it out though. The campus quick server vibe isn't my favorite, and frequently the floors are sticky and off putting. Usually it's pretty clean though. The tables could use a refresher for sure, lots of wobble in many of them.
